Template fills the input field with a prompt starter when you know the user's intent. This helps users skip the blank-page problem.
For example, a "Prepare a report" button might pre-fill the input with "Create a report for Myworkspace that describes..". User will have an easier time finishing the sentence rather than starting from scratch.
Templates also work as discovery tools. Present users with a selection so they can browse what the AI can do and pick the best template for the job
GitHub's "Draft with Copilot" button in the "Create sub-issue" menu fills the input with a started prompt when clicked.
GitHub offers an array of starting points for working with AI. Some tasks trigger quick actions, while others open a template selector.
